Unity
Michelle just got back from a wedding for a friend of ours tonight. Daddy did what all good dads do, and what I always want to do...stay with the kids for some quality laughter and grilled cheese.
When Shell got back, she told me about a moment at the reception tonight where the bride and groom entered the room with lit candles. They passed the flame on to the best man/maide of honor and eventually the flame made the full round and the room was lit by candlelight; a very direct display of the unspoken unity that exists in a wedding celebration. This got me thinking. Displays of unity; familial, friendly or otherwise can be such a powerful thing - even when shared over grilled cheese (or formula for those of us with less developed palates). I guess this blog she started does the same; we all stand united behind Banana Marge, mom, or whatever you may call her - we all love her just the same and are better off for having her in our lives.
Love you, Mom.
